OVERVIEW
[Story: An adventure to a celestial barrier and a sanctuary that will shake your soul]
"From the hustle and bustle of the city to a celestial barrier."
Stepping through the torii gate, you're no longer in a tourist area. The silence of the forest envelops the world, and you enter a sacred realm where only your breath resonates.
Our destination is the innermost sanctuary of Musashi Mitake Shrine, at an altitude of 1077m.
This is the legendary land where Yamato Takeru was once guided by a white wolf. We climbed the rock face, stepping on overhanging tree roots as if traversing a pathless route.
That is precisely the "path of Shugendo" that the ancient mountain ascetics followed.
At the top of the cone, which you reach breathlessly, you are greeted by an overwhelming energy of "high vibration."
The noise of the outside world fades away, and time flows for pure prayer.
As you descend the mountain, feeling pleasantly tired, your mind and body will be deeply purified (detoxified), and you will feel a lightness as if you have been reborn.
This is not just a hike; it's a sacred journey to rediscover yourself.
This is a full-fledged trekking tour aiming for the "Okunoin," the innermost sanctuary of Musashi Mitake Shrine, located at an altitude of 1077m.
This place, where the legend of Yamato Takeru being saved by a white wolf remains, is a world away from the hustle and bustle of tourists, filled with silence and a sacred atmosphere.
We'll traverse mountain paths with exposed tree roots and sections requiring the use of chains, heading towards the summit of a beautiful conical peak.
Experience the primal essence of ancient mountain worship and enjoy a special day of deep purification of mind and body in a high-vibrational sanctuary.

HIGHLIGHTS
To the sacred site at an altitude of 1077m: A "high-vibration" power spot where the legend of Yamato Takeru lives on.
We head towards the "Okunoin (Oguna Shrine)," located on a beautiful conical peak at the very back of Musashi Mitake Shrine. This is the legendary place where Yamato Takeru was led astray by an evil god and saved by a white wolf (Oinu-sama). Because there are few ordinary visitors, silence and a sacred atmosphere are maintained, and it is a powerful purification spot where visitors say they "feel high vibrations" and "feel lighter."
The "Shugendo Path": A trail of chains and tree roots, an adventurous experience of becoming one with untouched nature.
Unlike the paved approach to the shrine, the path to the inner sanctuary is a genuine mountain trail where tree roots protrude. The journey, which involves using your hands to grasp rocks and trees as you climb, evokes the origins of "Shugendo," the ascetic practiced by mountain ascetics in ancient times. Beyond the thrilling journey, a sense of accomplishment awaits, along with an experience of feeling the breath of the primeval forest, unchanged since the age of the gods.
A "prayer in silence" away from the hustle and bustle of tourist spots. The ultimate detox to reset mind and body.
In contrast to the area around the main shrine, which is bustling with many tourists, the inner sanctuary becomes a different world, as if you have entered a "sacred boundary," the moment you pass through the torii gate. In a space where only the sounds of the forest can be heard, it is a luxurious moment to face yourself and offer a deep prayer. Taking a deep breath in the sacred air will wash away the fatigue and doubts of daily life, and you will feel a deep sense of balance (detoxification) in both mind and body.

DETAILS
1. Clothing (Seasonal differences in attire)
Throughout the year, the basic principle is "layering," which makes it easy to regulate body temperature.
Summer (June to September): Wear clothing made of moisture-wicking, quick-drying material (such as polyester). Since you will sweat a lot while hiking, be sure to bring a change of clothes.
Winter (December to March): Temperatures drop significantly, so sufficient warm clothing such as thick fleece, down jackets, and highly insulating base layers is necessary. Accessories such as knit hats and neck warmers are also useful.
Footwear (important): We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.
2. Packing List
Backpack: One that leaves both hands free. Drinks: 500ml to 1000ml (bring more in summer). Rain gear: Separate-type rainwear (essential as the tour will proceed in light rain; can also be used as warm clothing). Cash: Many purchases, such as cable car fees, drinks at temple lodgings, and purchases in the temple town, are cash only, so be sure to bring some. Other: Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, mobile battery.
3. Response in case of rain: In principle, the event will proceed even in light rain. You can enjoy a very mystical and beautiful view of Mt. Ontake shrouded in rain.
Cancellation policy: The event will be canceled if a typhoon, weather warnings are issued, or severe weather conditions are expected that make it difficult to ensure safety.
Contact: As a general rule, we will contact you at your registered email address 48 hours before the event (or by the evening of the day before in case of sudden changes).
4. Other Notes Physical Difficulty: There is a steep slope and 330 stone steps leading to the shrine's main hall. Allergy Information: If you have any dietary restrictions for the temple lodging lunch (vegetarian, allergies, etc.), please be sure to contact us at least 30 days before making your reservation. Manners: The main hall is a sacred place. Please follow the instructions of the Shinto priests and worship in silence.
