About the organizing body
Force Wellness, a general incorporated association
Tokyo Yamagawa DMC Co., Ltd.
Tokyo Yamagawa DMC (Force Wellness, a general incorporated association) is a specialist company in regional revitalization, whose mission is to transform local communities' "aspirations" into "profitable realities."
Based in Akiruno City, Tokyo, we leverage the rich natural and cultural resources of the Nishitama area, including Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park, to develop adventure travel (AT) programs, inquiry-based nature experience learning schools, corporate training and wellness programs, and community development support for local governments and private companies.
mission
"The local community will handle the management, and we will implement the operations."
The reality is that far too many regional projects, despite having excellent strategies and visions, fail because the local level of implementation can't keep up.
We do not control the management of local communities or partner companies. Instead, we take on all the responsibility for the most difficult and gritty aspects of "operations," and we translate strategies into "results." No excuses, we get on the ground, and we quietly deliver results. That is the raison d'être of Tokyo Yamagawa DMC.
Business content
Adventure Travel (AT) Business
With an eye on the global AT market, which is worth 120 trillion yen, we will create and sell high-value-added tours targeting affluent travelers and inbound tourists. In addition, we will operate Japan's first AT guide training school that complies with international standards (WEAJ, LNT, WMTC), cultivating world-class personnel in the region.
Inquiry-based nature experience learning school program
We position geological strata and ecosystems from approximately 15 million years ago as a "textbook of the Earth," and offer inquiry-based nature experience programs that foster children's non-cognitive abilities. It has grown into one of the leading learning fields in the Tokyo metropolitan area, with approximately 30,000 elementary and junior high school students participating annually.
Community Development Support Project (Community Development Division)
We collaborate with local governments, tourism associations, and local businesses to provide one-stop services including support for establishing DMCs (Destination Management Centers), research and analysis of local resources, development of tourism content, and assistance in utilizing subsidies and grants. We also operate a training course for certified regional revitalization producers, which has attracted 105 participants in the first six months.
Corporate training and wellness tourism business
We offer workshops for generating new business ideas through industry-academia collaboration with Keio University Graduate School of System Design and Management (SDM), as well as wellness tourism aimed at supporting health management. We are also working on implementing universal tourism that allows everyone to enjoy nature.
Projects undertaken and funded by contracts and grants.
We have been contracted by multiple government agencies and grant organizations, including the Ministry of the Environment, the Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Foundation, and organizations affiliated with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (total contract value exceeding 56 million yen). We can handle everything from project design utilizing subsidies and grants to subsequent support for self-sufficiency.
