【PERSONAL STORY】Personal Story
─────────────────────────────────────────
A sociable boy who grew up in the countryside of Chiba and played with different friends every day,
meeted an Australian exchange student in a high school classroom and opened the door to English.
I spent a year traveling through Europe, exploring Dublin, Ireland, drinking Guinness, and standing on the Cliffs of Moher, discovering "who I really am."
After returning to Japan, despite being laughed at for being "obsessed with foreign culture," I immersed myself in a five-year career at a European travel agency, creating my own itineraries and guiding travelers.
The aurora borealis I saw while stationed in Finland changed my perspective on life's landscapes.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit and I re-examined "how I wanted to live,"
the answer was "islands."
─────────────────────────────────────────
"Island life suits me perfectly.
The sea, mountains, volcanoes, wild birds—everything on this island is
full of things I want to share with travelers.
I will continue this island life, never forgetting the joy of it."
──────────────────────────────────────────
In 2020, I moved to Izu Oshima and learned about the island from scratch as a member of the Regional Revitalization Cooperation Team.
When the Geoguide certification course began, I immediately applied, thinking "I have to do this," and successfully obtained certification.
Now, as a guesthouse owner, I offer travelers an adventure stay that integrates accommodation, guiding, and island experiences.
